Upper school Assessment Notice and Policy - Under the provisions of the Senior School Assessment Policy, a student can on ONE occasion be allowed to re-sit a missed major assessment (other than an exam) if they are sick on the proviso that the parents phones the relevant Head of Learning for the assessment being missed. All other occurences within that Learning Area will required  MEDICAL CERTIFICATE. The table below outlines the courses and relevant Head of Learning Area/ Teacher in Charge who will need to be contacted. Note - A phone call to the Front Office DOES NOT suffice.

To contact the Head of Learning Area - Please phone the school on the general reception number of 6241 5000 before 8.30 and asked to be put through to the relevant Head of Learning Area (see table below). If you fail to speak to the Head of Learning Area (after phoning through and leaving voicemail), then leave an email message requesting a call back. State your childs name and course for which the assessment is being missed.

Students going on holidays - Please do not schedule holidays during non school holidays periods. Students who miss extended periods of time due to family absense will be allowed one one occasion (over Year 11/12) to apply for assessment consideration. This application will need to be made through the Associate Principal (Senior School).

  • Add up your 4 higest exam scores - this  total out of 400 is called your TEA.

  • Go to the TISC website - ATAR calculator - At this link

    OR You can download this TEA to ATAR converter. It also shows you the cut off points for selected Universities in Western Australia

  • Enter your TEA (out of 400), in the window below this score use the dropdown to select last years data (this will give you the must current ATAR estimate)

  • Click the "Calculate" button - your estimated ATAR will be given.

Free Learn to Fly Seminars

 

The Royal Aero Club. On Sunday the 9th of October we are running two free Learn to Fly seminars one at 10am and the other one at 2pm, this event will provide key information on the steps involved in attaining a Commercial Pilots Licence as well as a meet and greet with industry pilots and a tour of the club. This event is targeted at year 11 and 12 students who are considering what career path they would like to take.

 

Each session will run up to an hour and a half hours this will include a meet and greet, tour around the club, aviation school and aircrafts, what we offer and a sit down seminar providing essential information about attaining a commercial Pilots licence , discounted trial flights will be offered throughout the day for individuals to experience the joy of flying. Please inform students that Registration is essential so we can ensure we have enough staff and aircrafts for  the day,  students can register at - download the flyer for more information

It is recommended for that the students’ parents attend the event with them.

There is an opportunity available for a students who is interested in Horticulture –(working with plants). If you are keen to consider a career within this industry and would like to work with a company that is environmentally aware, Waldecks Garden Centre is offering a School Based Traineeship to a student who would achieve a Certificate II in Horticulture while working at Waldecks in Stirling 1 day per week.
